Welcome to the IEM 6F100 Signup Page

Please follow the instructions below to access the on-line registration page to set up your IEM account through the Web. If you have further questions please contact the IEM office at iem@uiowa.edu or call 319-335-0881.

  1. If you have already registered for an IEM account in a previous course, you do not need to register again. Just use your existing account. If you do not remember your Login ID and Password, use our online password help found at http://128.255.244.60/WebEx/forgottenpassword.cfm.

  2. To register for an account you will need a security code that you can remember (this will be used to identify your account if you forget your password), address, and phone number. The information you provide us will not be sold or distributed in any way. It will be used by us solely to identify and administer your account. If you do not have this information with you, close this page and return to it when you have the necessary information. If you do not provide this information, or if it is obviously false, we cannot activate your account.

    Please Note: We do not ask for your social security number when you open an IEM account. Do not use your social security number as your security code.

  3. All traders must review the IEM Traders Manual. The manual is available at http://www.biz.uiowa.edu/iem/trmanual. You can read this manual online, or save a copy by holding down your shift key while clicking on the hypertext address.

  4. If you do not use your account, you may incur fees. There is no fee to open your account, but you may later incur fees if you do not use your account. If you open an account and the time between your logins exceeds 6 months, you may be assessed a semi-annual inactivity fee. The inactivity fee is $5 or the balance in your account, whichever is lower. This inactivity fee is assessed each January 1 and July 1, based on your previous 6 months' activity. You can avoid inactivity fees entirely by logging in to your account at least once every 6 months. You need only log in; you do not need to execute trades to avoid these fees.

  5. You will need to write a check to Iowa Electronic Markets to complete the online application process (we do not accept cash). Investments in the IEM must be between $5.00 and $500.00. The minumum investment set for this course is $10.00.

  6. You will need to take your check and a copy of your application form to the IEM Office, W283 PBB. If no one is on duty, just place your check and application form under the door. Your account will be activated within 3 business days.
